Martin ran our yard of up to 25 competition horses, youngsters, stallions and mares with foals most efficiently.  He was extremely conscientious, always punctual and was excellent at riding and bringing on youngsters.  He kept a very tidy and well managed yard with happy horses and staff!  Martin rode at International level for us and was always patient and quiet with all the horses in his care, whether stabled or being ridden.

We wish him all the very best with his own yard.

Martin first came to me as a trainee and from those early days it was evident he was a dedicated and natural horseman.  Being capable, hardworking and conscientious it was not long before Martin joined and then later headed my support team at Rawlins Farm.  Martin was highly regarded by clients and his fellow employees.  Now an experienced and competent rider Martin is capable of riding and handling the most difficult of horses whilst also having great empathy with youngsters or nervous animals.  I wish him every success with his running his own yard.

I have known Martin for over 6 years, during which time he has backed and produced several horses for me – dressage, show jumping and eventing.  The standard of care and attention he gives to the horses is of the highest quality, they are always very well looked after and progress well with their training under Martin’s careful attention.  I have no hesitation in recommending Martin and MJM Equestrian to any potential owners or livery clients – he can always be relied upon to do a first-rate job.  My next youngsters will be ready for him very soon!

We have had our horses based with Martin since he started his business in 2015.  He runs a professional yard, which is always immaculate and our horses are very relaxed and happy there.  The turn-out is good, as are the yard facilities (we particularly like the warm water wash down and infra-red lamps post-hunting) and there is excellent local hacking.  What we really appreciate is the way the yard is run and how Martin keeps in touch about how the horses are - he is extremely thorough, for example after a weekend eventing or hunting he will always contact me and let me know how the horses are.  Martin is also a "master" at bringing on young horses - he has started our young horse's eventing career in a sensitive way which has developed the horses confidence.  I strongly recommend Mayhill Barn Farm - it is a small, friendly and professionally run yard.

Martin has broken and produced a number of young horses for me recently and I have found his professionalism and patience to be second to none.  All the horses came back to me happy, confident and very rideable.  I would recommend him to anyone considering a professional to break or produce their young horse.

We have kept a number of horses at Martin’s yard over an 18 month period ranging from my daughter’s eventer to my hunter.  Martin is a dedicated, hard working professional.  He takes immense care over the welfare of all the horses on the yard.  Martin has a quiet and effective approach.  He takes times to discuss each horses’ needs individually.   He has always been there to support and help us including seeing us off to events at unearthly hours of the morning and being on the yard late at night on our return!

Mayhill Barn Farm is in a fantastic location, within easy reach of the M3 and M27.  The turnout is very good with safe well looked after paddocks. Horses are stabled in an American barn, which Martin keeps to a very high standard, and crucially there is a running hot water shower and heat lamps for the horses!

Highly recommend Martin at MJM Equestrian. He helped start my youngster and we have continued to have regular lessons. Great tuition with an excellent way of explaining things, I never thought we would get so far so quickly! Martin instills such confidence in both horse and rider, making sure the foundations are laid for a great future. I never knew flatwork could be so satisfying!
